Arbutin is a molecule extracted from the bearberry plant that prevents the formation of melanin. In addition to arbutin, two plant extracts, Kojic Acid (from mushrooms) and licorice root (from the licorice plant), also have whitening effects.Arbutin is a glucosylated hydroquinone derivative.
