what is Carmine?

Carmine, known as acid red 3R, is water-soluble synthetic Pigment, and odourless. It is good light resistance, acid resistance, strong heat resistance (105℃), poor reducing resistance and bacterial resistance. Carmine is soluble in water and red in aqueous solution, soluble in glycerin, slightly soluble in alcohol, insoluble in oil.

Carmine can be added to 30 foods, including sausage casings, soy milk drinks, shrimp chips, candy packaging and ice cream. According to the provisions in (GB2760-2014): the use and amount of carmine are the same as Amaranth. The amount of candy color clothing and soy milk drinks is 0.1g/kg, the amount of sausage casing is 0.025g/kg.
